We can clean up trash by participating or organizing community clean up projects in our neighborhoods. I live in the Bronx and at times there is trash everywhere. Instead of throwing trash in the garbage bins or recycle we tend to litter. Cleaning just a small spot of your community can make a big difference.
We can grow gardens; due to all the unhealthy food people eat such as chips, juice, cookies, there is empty plastic and paper everywhere. If we had more community gardens maybe there wouldn’t be as much plastic and paper laying around.
Recycling is another way we can not only keep our community clean, it also has other benefits.
Recycling reduces waste sent to landfills and incinerators.
Recycling prevents pollution.
Recycling conserves natural resources.
Recycling conserves energy.
Recycling creates jobs, producing economic benefits.
